The University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar, is a really good institute for engineering. It started as a university in 1980. Now, it has twenty-two departments that cover many types of engineering disciplines like electrical, mechanical, electronics, mechatronics, and industrial engineering. Over eighteen thousand students have graduated from UET, and they are now working in different fields in Pakistan. Some of them have even reached high positions in their fields. Besides the regular bachelor's degree courses, there are also advanced post-graduate programs where students work hard on research to get Master's and Ph.D. degrees.

On dated. 20-09-2012, the name of this university has been changed from "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar" to "University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar".
